The Monthly Challenge: $100 to the fastest reader

Every month nnLabs runs its own reading competition. It’s free to enter. Read in mirrored, upside-down and jumbled scripts, finish in the top 10 by the end of the month, then win the live round for $100.

When it runs

Last day of the month, 23:59 UTCEntries and runs close. The top 10 on the challenge board are invited to the live round by email.
First week of the next monthThe live round: the 10 finalists read the same 3 fresh passages, nobody has seen them before, in one set time window.
Within a week of the live roundResults are published on the challenge page and the winner is paid.

How to win

  1. Sign up and enter. It’s free. You need to be 18 or over.
  2. Read and answer. Each run is one passage against the clock, then three questions. Get all three right and the run is verified.
  3. Climb the board. Your best verified score in the month counts. Harder scripts carry a higher weight.
  4. Make the top 10. On the last day of the month, the top 10 are invited to the live round.
  5. Win the live round. The highest average score across the three fresh passages wins $100.

The prize

$100 (USD) to the live-round winner, every month. Paid by nnLabs in US dollars or USDC, to an account or address the winner confirms in writing. Winners are responsible for their own taxes. If the winner can’t be paid or doesn’t claim the prize under the rules, it goes to the next finalist.

Fair play

  • Answers are checked on our server, and the questions change every run.
  • The server times every reading too. Times that don’t match don’t count.
  • A passage you’ve already read never ranks a second time.
  • The live round uses fresh passages, one attempt each, so everyone starts cold.
